Marathon Data to Host New Jersey Tech Council Event on “What's Next In Supply Chain And Logistics”

Neptune, N.J. (May 12, 2015) – Marathon Data Systems (www.marathondata.com), a leading provider of Software-as-a Service (SaaS) solutions for field services and transportation and logistics industries, will host a New Jersey Tech Council event on “What’s Next in Supply Chain and Logistics,” presenting an array of research and development efforts from the region's universities and companies.

Featured presentations will provide participants with a glimpse of the supply chain and logistics efforts that are reinventing technology throughout the region. In addition to Marathon Data Systems President and CEO Chris Sullens, other presenters will include: Arash Azadegan, supply chain disruption research laboratory (SCDrl) co-director, Rutgers University; Rob Mauro, field application engineer, Arrow Electronics; and Jason Barrett, software development manager, Voxware.

Sullens’ presentation will explore the convergence between field service and the last mile of transportation and logistics industries, and how rising demands driven by the ‘Amazon Effect’ have raised the bar in transportation and logistics and field services. He’ll also speak to how cloud and mobile technologies have revolutionized the ability to proactively manage many long-standing traditional delivery challenges.

“An ever-evolving supply chain and logistics industry requires constant innovation to facilitate and nurture its upward growth,” said Sullens. “The opportunity to join many of the leading minds in the field to discuss how we can make better use of technology to prepare for this future is an event Marathon is proud to be part of.”

The event will be hosted at Marathon’s offices on Thursday, May 14, 2015 starting at 5 p.m. ET. The panel will be preceded by two Workgroups starting at 4 p.m. ET: Kelly Gliatta, vice president of talent for Marathon, will co-present on ‘Women in Technology’ along with Ziqian Dong, Ph.D., School of Engineering & Computer Sciences at New York Institute of Technology.
